An easy way to grow a pineapple.

In this video I turn baking soda into washing soda using a 1 step process (cooking it on the stove). Washing soda has many uses and is not usually as available as baking soda.

I made brownies a few days ago with both a new recipe, and a new cocoa powder. I'd previously been using the Scharffen Berger unsweetened cocoa. Oh Alice Waters and her magical Edible Schoolyard! Back in 1994, Alice Waters and King Middle School principal Neil Smith, worked with the community to refurbish their 1930's cafeteria kitchen into a wonderland of food education. The kitchen along with a one acre garden was the begining of what turned into the Edible Schoolyard project.

Childhood Obesity is Michelle Obama's signature issue in this administration. A new report from The White House Task Force on Childhood Obesity calls on food companies to stop marketing unhealthy food to kids. This recommendation comes from a 120 page report, released on Tuesday, which focuses on ways we can combat the childhood obesity epidemic in our nation.
